So on Monday, Brian and I (and Wes) went to a Renaissance Faire in Bristol, which is right on the Illinois/Wisconsin border. Things started out so great because as we were walking in two separate people offered us tickets to get in since they had extras. So what would have ended up costing $30, was free instead! We were very excited since it was going to turn out to be a free day for us (which is always nice and needed).
However, what was originally a free day, turned out, in fact, to be a day that's going to end up costing us about $300. Honestly, I would have rather paid the $30. Just as we were getting ready to leave, we stopped in one shop to take a picture of the double oh with a jester's hat. We put the camera back in the stroller where it had stayed all day. Five minutes later when we went to take another picture...it was gone. We hoped it had just fallen out so we retraced our steps, asked guest services, security, store owners, etc. To no avail. That was the last day of the faire and as of today, there is still no sign of our camera. We have to guess that is was indeed stolen. So lame. I hope someone enjoys our 2005 Christmas present from my parents and the nearly 200 pictures of us and our child that were on the
camera.Needless to say, we have to buy a new camera. We can't have a 5 month old and not have a camera. And the bummer is, it was an awesome camera. So we will shell out the $300 for a new one, even though we really can't/shouldn't. There's always something, isn't there?
Anyway, enjoy the pictures that we didn't take...even though we did take some. Just someone else has them. Bummer. At least I can say I've been to a Renaissance Faire though. That's a bonus.
