The Week in Puyallup!

The kids and I spent just over a week at my parents' house in Puyallup (pyoo-all-up). We had a fun time playing outside, working in the garden, relaxing, shopping, getting runs in (of course!), and definitely enjoying the view of the mountain!

Grandma and Wes.

My dad grew these zucchini. They were the biggest I'd ever seen so I had to take a picture!

Sydney playing on the deck. She ran into the glass a couple of times.

We put some rocks in a tub so Wes could play with his tractors on the deck.

Sydney and Grandma.

A deer came to eat the lettuce in the garden.

It's cool to see deer still roaming around even with all the suburban growth.

Wes helped me make some dessert on Sunday.

On Tuesday, before I left, I had dinner with my BFF from high school, Jessika. I love a friend that I can see once every year or so and it's like nothing's changed. Those are the forever friends!

Wes was trying to throw the ball up to the deck.

My mom taught Sydney how to say "shoe". She's pretty much a genius!

Thanks to Mom and Dad Swensen for a great end to our 4-week summer vacation adventure!

Dad's 59th Birthday

On Monday, we celebrated my dad's 59th birthday! I was glad the kids and I could be there to enjoy the festivities.

Happy birthday, Dad!

I think this picture is so cute with Sydney's arm over her Grandpa's arm.

I love getting a "blowing out the candles" picture.

This is the fresh strawberry pie I made for my dad. It was my first attempt and it turned out pretty well, I think!
