One Week in Dallas

Brian, Wes, and I made it to Dallas last Saturday, thanks in large part to the help of Grandma Hanks! We have a great furnished 2-bedroom apartment that's just a couple of minutes from Brian's office. We got here and it was nice and hot to welcome us (but we realize that's just the beginning)!

On Thursday, we had another new couple in our ward and their 11-month-old little girl over for dinner. Then on Friday night, we went over to Brian's good friends, Brandon and Lisa's house for dinner, dessert and some good hang out time. (Thanks again!)

So far, things are good!
(Brian is liking his job change in the first week, so that's a good sign.)

Wes decided he wanted to eat that whole huge pear by himself...he didn't get the chance to finish it, but he may well have!

A great picture of Wes and Grandma Hanks!

Wes also had his first "big" accident in his little life. He was crawling on the tile in his PJs and I think his knees just slipped out from under him and he face-planted on the tile. When he lifted his head, he was bleeding from his lip. Poor kid! (You will notice the fat upper lip in the picture - I'm just glad it didn't chip his teeth or anything.) I do realize, however, that this is the first of many accidents this kid will have - especially since he's his father's son.

Wes' Birthday Song

He was very exicted about us singing to him. He's become quite a little dancer anytime he hears music. I love it because it always makes me smile. And for those of you not in the Jack and Mary Smith family, the 2nd song is the "Puerto Rican/Spanish" version of Happy Birthday. (I actually don't know what all the words are really supposed to be but we both try...it is tradition, after all.)
