Rainy Days...

We've been having some definite spring-like weather with beautiful sunny days alternated with dark rainy days. The other day was a rainy day so I had to get a little creative so we didn't go crazy (especially without Dad here)!

First, Wes and I fashioned a noise-maker out of a TP roll, paper, black beans, stickers and tape. I thought it was a good little craft project that he'd have fun with, but as it turned out Sydney had more fun with the final product.

I took a bunch of dry beans and made a "bean box" for Wes to dig around in. He LOVES digging in sandboxes, but it doesn't work so well when it's raining. This bean box was great though, because he LOVES digging in it too! The only concern is when he starts to "crash" into the beans and spills them on the floor...kind of a hazard for Sydney. He had a great time though and played with it for at least an hour, probably more - I had to make him put it away to eat dinner.

PS: It wasn't my original idea, but I think it's a great one!

Sydney's crawling around, pulling herself up and even cruising along the couch. I think she's extra motivated because she wants to do what her big brother does!
