A Charlotte Christmas Eve

Since we didn't travel for Christmas this year, we were able to enjoy the warmer Christmas Eve weather that Charlotte had to offer. Here are some pictures from our day!

We started out the morning with pancakes made using my way fun Pancake Pen that my sister got me for my birthday. I made initials (W&H seen here), Christmas trees, a snowman, and an ornament.

We spent the majority of the day just hanging out and watching Christmas movies and then we went to the park after quiet time.

The temperature was in the high 40s, so it was a little chilly, but the kids had a great time.

It was so nice to get out of the house!

This picture is a bit hard to see, but I thought Sydney's face was super cute. She loves the swings.

After we were done at the park, we went to Caribou Coffee to get hot chocolate (white hot chocolate for me...mmmm).

When we got home, we video chatted with my family in Washington. My sisters and their families, as well as my Swensen grandparents, were all all at my parents' house for Christmas. I think video chatting is one of the (many) awesome benefits of the technological age!

The kids then got to open their Christmas Eve gifts. Wes had the perfect level of excitement about his pajamas and his new book. His was a Christmas Cars book and Sydney's was a Christmas Mickey Mouse Clubhouse book.

Cookie bars and milk for Santa as well as celery and carrots for the reindeer.

Cute PJs from Gymboree. They pretty much look like twins, right?

HUGS! And then off to bed!

Gingerbread House

Our sweet friends, Troy and Becca, gave us a gingerbread house kit to do as a pre-Christmas activity.

Brian was in charge of the frosting and he got to decorate one side of the roof. The kids got to do the rest.

The kids with their masterpiece!

Boots

On Sunday the 19th, Wes and Sydney decided they were going to play around the house in my boots. Here are some pictures I took.

Pretty awesome.

They did this when I said, "Turn to the side!"

Strike a pose in those sweet boots!

I love these kids. They often make me smile. :)
