Monday: 4 miles
Tuesday: 5 miles
Thursday: 4 miles
Saturday: 11 miles
Total for the week: 24 miles (306.2 to go!)
On Monday and Tuesday I ran on the Puyallup path again. On Thursday, my good friend, Jonelle, stayed with the kids while I did my run back here in Ann Arbor.
On Saturday, for the 11-miler, I had some running buddies. Brian drove in from Chicago late Friday night and we left around 9am Saturday to do our run. We picked up a double jogging stroller that I have been borrowing from a friend in our ward and then headed over to the Gallup Park area to start our journey along the Huron River. Things went really well for the most part. We took a little break between miles 3 and 4 to let the kids get out for a bit. Then we got back on the trail and the kids lasted until between mile 8 and 9 before Wes poked Sydney (accidentally, I think) and since she was so tired (past her nap time), she got pretty upset. I decided to get her out to calm her and Wes kept saying, "I all done, Mom. Mom, I all done." Wes got out too and decided to get in some running of his own. He seriously ran probably a half mile (while Brian and I walked since Wes isn't
that fast). He was upset when we put him back in the stroller.
We finally finished our run after we got the kids back in the stroller. The whole run time took almost two and half hours! Good little kiddos we have to be happy that long!
For those who were wondering... :) The first picture is of my Garmin Forerunner 305. It's a GPS watch with a heart rate monitor. I
love it. I've had it since December and it's been so great to have. It tracks my pace, distance, time and heart rate on the front screen. I know there's also a bunch of other things it does, but I haven't taken the time to figure it all out. We got Brian his own from Costco, when they were having a deal, before he started his training in New York. If you're intersted in one, Best Buy is running a deal right now for $130. That's the best I've seen and less than Brian and I each paid for ours.
They do have an updated model - the 405 - that my friend
Kristin used for her marathon training last year. It looks more like a watch, but it actually didn't fit my wrist very well. Plus, they basically have the same features (I'm actually not sure what the difference is with the newer one), but since the 305 is the older model, it's cheaper. I'd check it out if you're thinking about training for anything. They also have a cadence attachment for bikes and other such gizmos. REI was a good place to check it all out. It's been great to have it!
