Fun Times, Sick Babies and Off to Ann Arbor!

Since I still have some catching up to do, there are a lot of pictures below.

As Brian mentioned, Noami packed more than half our house while we were gone so she and I were able to pretty much just play for the week. It was a good thing too, because Wes had a temperature from teething and was totally angry for most of the week and Brooklyn had an ear infection so she wasn't happy either. No fun for the moms! However, we definitely managed to enjoy our time together - laughing, commiserating (after all, our husbands are brothers), :) and watching the Olympics!

Brian was in Ann Arbor for most of the week, but we got a pic of Brooklyn and Uncle Brian before he left.

Future doctor? :) Wes liked putting the stethoscope around his neck. I thought he was pretty cute.

We took a trip to Costco. The kids look excited, eh? Yah, they weren't feeling well.

Brooklyn and Wes playing while Naomi and I took care of business around the house.

Grandpa Hanks flew in on Friday night to help us move and then drive back to Utah with Kevin and Naomi. He was a huge help! Here he is enjoying time with his two grandchildren!

Whatever it takes to keep the kids entertained (and Wes from picking up dangerous objects: lighters, scissors, cleaning supplies...) while we were packing and loading!

In Ann Arbor! Starting to unload a full truck.

I was in charge of keeping the babies entertained. I have never felt more pregnant in my whole two pregnancies than I did while we were moving stuff. I hated it. Thank goodness we had so much help!

Wes with Grandpa Hanks outside our new abode.

We rented the biggest truck and at first I didn't think we could fill it, but we had no problem doing so! I don't know what we'll do next time we move...

The people who did pretty much all the work (minus the babies, of course, and with some help from new and old friends): Brian, Dad Hanks, Kevin, and Naomi.

Naomi left fun notes for us when we went to move and unpack boxes.

I think Brian and Kevin took this as a challenge.

I just always feel badly when Wes sleep like this. I try to fix him, but his head always falls down again. Oh well, right?

After a lot of consideration, we decided to try putting Wes in his own bed once we got here. Yep, he's only 16 months and some people might think we're crazy, but Wes is a pretty easy-going kid so we thought we'd have a chance.
This is the before picture - he looks so small in a big twin bed!

And this is after! So far so good. No crying or anything. We'll see how it goes during the night and when he wakes up. And then at nap time. We'll keep you posted! :)

Ann Arbor or Bust

We've officially moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan!

Our house looks like a midwest box farm (like so many of the box farms we passed on the drive out here), so details at this point will take a back seat to the need to unpack.

Special thanks goes out to Kevin & Naomi who spent much of their free time this summer packing the majority of our house for us. Also my Dad deserves a big thank you for all his help with the move as well. All three of them, facing a 20+ hour drive with a 6-month old, drove 5 hours in the wrong direction, helped us unload the truck, and then drove 5 more hours the same day.

Rumors they are being offered automatic celestialization by President Monson cannot be confirmed.
