Mickey Mouse's House

We flew into San Diego on Monday to visit my other sister, Angie, and her family. When we were still in Ann Arbor I put my nieces' and nephews' pictures on the fridge so I could help Wes get to know them. When I pointed at Mitchell's picture I asked Wes if he wanted to go to Mickey Mouse's house when we went to see Mitchell. Ever after, he'd associate Mitchell with Mickey Mouse. Maybe now Mitchell will also be associated cars, trucks, and trains! :)

Mitchell wanted to hold Sydney. He tells me she's cute. I think so too!

The Happiest Place on Earth! We were celebrating Sydney and Wes' first Disneyland experience. What will you celebrate?

Angie pushing the boys as Mitchell studies the map.

The girls' stroller. Sydney's kickin' back - foot up and all.

Going on "It's a Small World"! (Try not to get the song stuck in your head...)

Sydney loved taking the train around the park.

Cute picture of Angie and Mitchell (and Wes) on the train.

We did indeed go to Mickey Mouse's house in Toon Town to get our picture taken with The Mouse himself. Wes was a little nervous (as expected), but he did say, "Bye-bye Mickey Mouse," with a timid little wave as we were leaving. As you can tell, he was holding on for dear life in this picture! :/ I din't even notice at the time. Whoops! :)

Here are Angie, Mitch, and Maddy with Mickey.

We watched the Celebrate! parade and Madison got to dance with the ladies on the street.

We were standing in the sun so it was pretty hot as you can tell from Wes' red cheeks. He still enjoyed his Mickey confetti!

The boys were tired at the end! Wes is wearing his "1st Time" button.

Sydney was definitely "All done!" as you can see from this picture. She had a look on her face like, "Mom, can we seriously get out of here already?"

Wes, Madison and Mitchell watching the lady make (yummy) tortillas in Old Town San Diego. Jennie and Mike had to fly to L.A. on Monday so Mike could testify in a federal trial (that a whole other story!) and then they drove down to San Diego on Tuesday so they could hang out with us. They flew out Wednesday, but we got together for lunch at a Mexican Cafe in Old Town first.

Marathon Training - Week 3 + Fit For Life 10k

On Saturday, I ran the Fit for Life 10k in Boise to end my third week of training. It went great! I used Jelly Belly Sport Beans throughout the race, and I think it worked! My final time was 51:40 (about an 8.35 min/mi). I cut about 7 minutes off my last 10k time, by the way. I was pretty happy with it! The race wasn't super huge or anything, so my time ended up being really good. Here are my placements:

Overall Place: 18 out of 104
Sex Place: 5 out of 70
Age Division Place: 1(!) out of 18

See my shiny gold medal? :) I don't think I've ever gotten a medal in my life! I was "technically" #2 in my 25-29 age division, but #1 finished in the top 3 overall so I was bumped to #1! I'll take it!

Starting out and going strong!

I think the track makes me looker redder. :) I rocked it out!

Monday: 3 miles
Tuesday: 4 miles
Friday: 3 miles
Saturday: 6.2 miles (I'm rounding up to 7 miles for my countdown purposes.)
Total for the week: 16.2 miles (370.2 to go!)

Wes Can Swim!

Most of these pictures and videos are for Brian since I always think, "Oh Brian would love watching the kids do this!" Wes "swimming" was one such event. We went over to Jennie and Mike's friends' house to swim in their pool. The kids had a great time!

Lydia loved being around Sydney. She'd help feed her snacks (which Sydney didn't appreciate very much) and eat her snacks and pet her and hug her and kiss her and keep her from going up the stairs... She'd also say, "She cute baby. Hey! She cute baby." Or on Sunday when she was in her dress, she'd call her, "Pretty princess." I think they'll be good friends as they get older!

Wes and Sydney with Mom!

Wes really enjoyed jumping into the pool. He even went down the slide (in the background of this shot) with me one time!

Here's our little swimmer! I was so impressed that he figured out how to get around since he's only been in a pool once since last year and he's never used a ring floatie before.

I thought this was pretty cute that the boys (Danny, Nathan, Ryan and Wes) were all concentrating on this Tech Deck that the boys bought with their allowance money.

All-in-all, the kids had a blast, which was the goal. Plus, I had a great time enjoying some adult conversation on a regular basis, getting my runs in sans children (again), and definitely watching The Bachelorette and SYTYCD with people who enjoy it as much as I do! (And let's not forget the MJ funeral...) Thanks Mike, Jennie and family!

A Birthday in Boise

July 8th was Danny's 9th birthday. I can't believe my nephews are getting so grown up!

Make a wish!

Ta da! I'm the party girl!

Wes, Ryan, and Lydia ready with their party hats.

Yummmm...cake!

We went to the park for a picnic lunch on Thursday. Sydney enjoyed the freedom.

Ryan and Wes enjoyed going down the slide.

Sleepy girl.... I love that she cuddles with me!

Wes liked playing with the race cars.

Sydney took a turn sitting in the path of the sprinklers...she wasn't so sure about it.
