More Fun at Grandpa and Grandma's

We had a great time in Utah. We all got spoiled! Brian and I got to see movies, eat out, reconnect with old friends, sleep in, and spend time without the kids! Here are some random pictures (mostly of the kids) from our trip.

Grandma reading to Wes and Sydney. They love being read to!

Grandpa took Wes on the FrontRunner train. He had a fabulous time!

Wes and Sydney had a great time with the "marble game". I was surprised that Sydney preferred to put the marbles in the tower rather than her mouth.

Grandma helped Wes paint a train.

Aunt Janna helped too! She was painting her airplane.

Wes helped Grandpa shine his church shoes. (Uncle Craig's in the back.) Wes was happy to help Grandpa during our visit. He also loved helping him take the trash to the dump and watching the tractors!

Sydney thoroughly enjoyed the yummy lasagna!

Brian and I went to lunch at the new In-N-Out in Orem. Since we went without the kids we brought them back some hats. (We were getting their PJs on when we finally gave them their hats, hence the nakey-babies.)

A HUGE thanks to Mom and Dad Hanks for the great trip!

Cowtown Countdown - 8 Weeks to Go

The picture above is another one my father-in-law took during my 18-miler. Last week was an "easy" week and I may have taken it a little too literally! :) Oh well! At least I got some enjoyable holiday time in (not to mention some great breakfasts).

Brian ran Monday's 6-miler with me. I was really impressed with him since he's been doing more 3- and 4-mile runs since the marathon. On Friday, instead of doing another 6-miler or my scheduled tempo run, I taught Brian how to do a speed workout. It was fun to be "coach" for a little bit.

So, maybe I slacked a little, slept in a little, ate a little (more desserts than usual), but I don't feel too badly about it! With the combination of the snow, altitude, family partying time, sleeping in, and good food, what's a girl to do? I'm back going strong this week though! Not to worry! :)

Weekly Goals
Monday: 6 miles at 8:47 / mi
Tuesday: 4 miles at 7:37 / mi (w/ 1 mile warm and cool)
Thursday: 6 miles at 8:47 / mi
Saturday: 6 miles at 8:47 / mi

Outcome
Monday: 6 miles at 9:33 / mi
Friday: 1x1600 at 7:48 / mi, 1x1600 at 8:10 / mi
