Today Wes and I went to a nearby Splash Park that was supposed to be a ward playgroup. The only person I saw from our ward was my friend, Melanie who I hang out with all the time anyway! Oh well. We had a great time!
I think these splash parks are a great thing for kids that are Wes' age. It's hard to take him to the pool because he wants his freedom, but he can't swim. So this is a great compromise on a hot day.
Wes was a little hesitant at first, but he eventually was happy to play. The bonus was this park had a grate/drainage around the edge that Wes was afraid to walk on so it kept him in the water part and I didn't have to chase him all around!
Photogenic Wes with his cheesy grin and his friend Zoe (Melanie's daughter). Zoe is about 3 1/2 weeks younger than Wes, but she's teeny-tiny. The two kids play really well together...until Wes steals Zoe's toys! (And food, for that matter!) :)
Wes stayed in this little area for a lot of the time. He liked sticking his finger over the hole and watching other kids fill up buckets with water. These are bonus pictures mostly for G&G Swensen since they gave Wes this little laptop for his birthday. For some reason he's been totally into it lately...carrying it around everywhere, stopping, playing for a bit, dancing to the music, carrying it somewhere else... It's great for me!

Wes met a couple of dogs while we were there. Luckily, they were super friendly dogs (but I still wasn't a fan). Everytime this dog would try and get near Wes, he'd "run" away until he tripped and then he'd have a hard time getting away after that. Needless to say, Wes got his face licked numerous times.
Wes enjoyed sharing cherry 7-Up with his dad while we were all relaxing in the shade.
This is Lisa. She's is 36 1/2 weeks pregnant (due July 1st). I love that she's four-wheeling. She could pop the baby out that way!

This is the group before we hit the road (minus me). Left to right: Lisa, Sara, Roxy, Gary, Brandon, Wes, and Brian.
