We've had a fun week adjusting and getting settled in Ann Arbor. It's definitely been overwhelming at times (after all, I am having a baby in less than 2 months!) but we've already met a lot of great people.
On Wednesday we went to a Ross Partners BBQ (Ross is the name of the business school here at UofM) and I met a chica who has a boy about 2 weeks younger than Wes and she's also due with her 2nd about 2 weeks after me! How great is that? The Partners club is an awesome resource for the spouses and significant others. It's great that we've already met a lot of people. Wes has had a great time meeting all the kids, too. He's one social little man!
Wes has been enjoying playing the piano this week. He actually even "sings" sometimes while he plays. He played while Brian and I finished our dinner on Friday night. How romantic! :) We just need to get the piano tuned or Wes will not be able to pick out the right notes very well!
On Friday morning, Wes and I went blueberry picking with the other three 1st year LDS MBA wives. We all live in the same housing complex and we can all relate, so obviously we're going to be automatic friends.
This is Wes eating the blueberries as I picked them. They were really good so I couldn't blame him for eating a bunch!
Here's Jonelle and her 6-month-old son, Carter. Jonelle and her husband, Steve, had Brian over for dinner a few nights while he was here and I was still in Schaumburg. So nice of them!
On the left is Marti and she's pregnant with her first and due in December. (Yay for more pregnant ladies!) She and her husband, Shawn, moved here from Seattle so they have to be cool. :)On the right is Andrea and her 11-month-old son, Hayden. She and Tyler let Brian use their house while they were gone that whole week he was here without me. Obviously, lots of great people around!
Here are Wes and me. It's pretty rare that I actually get pictures since I'm often the one taking them!
Today church was bitter-sweet. We found out that we're moving from 9:00am to 1:00pm church in 2 weeks and Brian just about quit the ward. Plus, the A/C wasn't working today so it was pretty hot for this pregnant lady. However, Brian worked his magic and they're letting Wes start Nursery even though he's only 16 months! I made sure Brian actually told them he Wes was a little young, but they gave us a welcome letter and everything. Of course Wes did great and had a blast with the other kids (again, social butterfly). So we just had to document his first official day of Nursery with this cute picture.
PS: The bed thing is still going well! He's been doing nights and naps without any problem! (Lucky us, we know.)
And this is me at 33 weeks. It been a very pregnant-feeling week. I'm not a fan. I got some recommendations on doctors/midwives today at church so hopefully I'll be able to get that taken care of soon. (Especially since it's been about 2 months since my last check up.) Sydney Lyn is doing well though, as far as I can tell! She likes to move it, move it! Here are 29 weeks, 25 weeks, 21 weeks, and 17 weeks.
