7th Week of Summer

These pictures are from July 15th to July 21st.

We measured Ruth on her 5-month birthday. I randomly measured Wes when he was 5-months, so now the kids get measured on their birthday and then 5 months after their birthday.

Ruth is our tallest 5-month-old so far!

Wes asked me to take a picture of him. That is something I try never to say "no" to.

Then Sydney asked me to take one of her as well.

The kids helped me make bread from scratch. It was the week before Pioneer Day so we were tapping into our Pioneer roots.

We took the kids to Texas Roadhouse because they earned free kids' meals from the library reading program.

It happened to be kids' day so they got free balloons and free ice cream sundaes.

This is Wes and his friend, Parker, at Wahooz for their friend, Easton's, birthday party.

Wes with his friends waiting to get into Laser Tag.

Ready for Laser Tag!

A personal favorite: Skee Ball.

On our way out to go home, we saw a double rainbow!

We decided to start Ruth on solids. That's always a fun experience!

The faces are always the best part of trying new foods.

Ruth practicing sitting up. The older kids loved it when Ruth started sitting up.

I think Wes really wanted me to take a picture of this sword. It was hard to tell it's a sword though.

I like to let Sydney brush my hair because it generally feels good.

This is the problem with brushing curly hair!

Some sunflowers that I grew in my backyard as part of my gardening experience this year. They were a little bigger than I had anticipated.

Wes getting brave and jumping off the diving board at swimming lessons.

Trying on hats at Target.

More sitting up practice!

Wes and Brian arm wrestling.

I put Ruth on the play mat and when I came back into the room, she had disappeared! I had a mini panic attack and then realized she had rolled to the middle of the room.

Wes jumping into the pool at Corrente Bello where we own a house.

Sydney wanted me to take her picture while she was holding her breath under water. Too bad she looks like she's dead. :/

She's just fine!

We had a campfire in our backyard and made S'mores. We even made the graham crackers and the marshmallows!

A kid favorite, of course.

I've always been intimidated by making my own marshmallows but had wanted to try it. They were really good and not that difficult!

I put fresh raspberries from our garden in mine.

The kids and I went to the Stake Pioneer Day breakfast.

Brian and I went on a group date to see the Screwtape Letters. It was a great show!

Ruthie eating her toes and ready for church.

The kids had to have "reverence practice" one evening. I think it was after the home teachers were over.
