Two 5k's in One Day

It's pretty rare to be able to do two races in one day. On May 8th, an opportunity came up, so I thought I'd jump on it. The first race I did - the Milan Opening Day 5k - was about 20 minutes north and started at 7:30am. It was a really small race. and they didn't have chip timing so I couldn't wait around for them to figure out my time and for me to get my award. I had to get to race #2! My time was 21:53. Again, not a PR, but the exact same time I got at the Run Fit 5k. It was really windy and cold though. That's my excuse for not getting a PR. :)

Since I had to pass by Ann Arbor to get to the second race - the Vision Builders 5k - I picked up Brian and the kids on the way so Wes could do another kids run. This race started at 9:30am and was 20 minutes south. Jonelle also did this one with me (her very last race in the Ann Arbor area). This race was also really small, but it had a lot to offer! The wind was worse this time so again, I didn't get a PR. I came in at 23:14. Jonelle came in at 21:32 and placed first in our age division.

Go, Wes, go!

This race had a free pancake breakfast, a free carnival for the kids, musicians on the course, and lots of other treats. It made waiting for the awards ceremony (again, no chip timing) a little easier.

Wes really liked wearing Jonelle's medal, but he didn't want to take his picture in this spot (apparently a grassy spot to his right was much better), so he's throwing a mini fit.

Random Kid Pics

The week before graduation Wes and Brian went miniature golfing. Apparently, Wes got a legitimate hole-in-one. Impressive!

We were at Macy's and Sydney wanted to put on all the bracelets she could see. Her arms are only so long though! She was very upset when we made her put them all back when it was time to leave.

Wes looked pretty cute riding on Daddy's shoulders and wearing his hat.

Wes eating a mini doughnut from Starbucks with Dad's hat on.

Me and my little kiddos on Mother's Day!

Our TV broke so I made a special spot under Brian's desk for the kids to watch a show. (Don't worry, we bought a "new" one for $15 on Craigslist.)

Sydney was wearing this bike helmet around the house and wanted to wear it to the park. She let me take it off her when she realized she'd have to be too careful while playing for it to stay on her head.
