Trip to Yellowstone - Day 4

The kids (minus Ruth) and husbands spent the night in Great Grandma and Grandpa's trailer, while the wives stayed warm inside. On Thursday morning, Great Grandma made an amazing breakfast and then Great Grandpa took all but Ruth and me to attempt fishing again. (Since Ruth likely would have tried to jump in the water the entire time.) Then we got some potatoes, of course, and the Chicago Hanks headed for Utah and we headed home to Boise.

Wes waiting to catch something. I think someone did eventually catch something.

Ruth had a fun time staying home with me. She loved this little flatbed and the toy cars.

Trip to Yellowstone - Day 3

On the evening of the 2nd day, Grandma and Grandpa Hanks came up to spend the night and hang out with us on Wednesday. The 3rd day of our trip (Wednesday) was very cold like the previous two. However, the kids still got to try their hand at fishing in the morning since we had packed all of the fishing stuff and promised them they'd get to go. I actually stayed in the car with a napping Ruth.

We then drove towards Brian's grandparents' house since we were all checked out of our cabin and stopped at Mesa Falls (Where it poured rain! So much for our picnic!) and then stopped in Ashton for huckleberry ice cream before heading to the farm.

Sydney fishing.

Wes and Sydney fishing. Unfortunately, they didn't catch anything.

Brian and Sydney.

Me and Brian. Lots of waterfall pictures! (Grandpa had Ruth.)

At our ice cream stop we ordered two of their giant sundaes. It was WAY more than we could finish. It was really yummy though!

Ruth was very happy to dig in!

Wes, Brooklyn, and Sydney sharing the giant sundae. Lily was somewhere around, too.

Our baby babushka. It was so chilly and windy that Great Grandma Hanks lent Ruth a head scarf to go outside.

Sydney taking a ride with Uncle Kevin on the 4-wheeler.

Ruth taking a turn with her dad.

Later in the afternoon, the boys went to explore some cave.s

The girls stayed home and did some sand crafts. Seems a little cliche, doesn't it? :)

Trip to Yellowstone - Day 2

The 2nd day of our Yellowstone trip wasn't as wet but it was quite cold. That didn't keep us from exploring and hiking though!

Sometime in the night Wes lost - and then literally lost - his tooth in the cabin. I think it's funny that my kiddos really could be twins sometimes (even though they're 18 months apart). In this instance, they are both missing the same tooth!

Me and Ruth with a geyser behind us.

The kids admiring a geyser.

Brooklyn helping Ruth navigate the path.

Ruth and Brian.

Ruth with Uncle Kevin. Ruth had to be held a lot of the time because she loves water and she would have happily jumped into a geyser.

Ruth, Wes, me and Kevin.

A shot of the river. That is snow in the right foreground.

A group shot!

Having lunch near the waterfall. It was cold.

Selfie with my niece, Brooklyn. She's so photogenic!

And more snow.
