2nd Week of Summer 2013: To Utah

The 2nd week of summer we made our way to Utah to see Brian's family, go to the Ephraim K. Hanks movie (Ephraim's Rescue) and the fireside, and to celebrate my mom's actual 60th birthday.

After Grandma Hanks, Grandpa Hanks, Brian, and Janna took the kids on a HOT bike ride, Wes, Sydney, and Audrey got to enjoy Happy Meals in the shade of the backyard!

Ruth (almost 4 months) with Grandpa Hanks.

Brian and I took Wes on a special "date" to see Ephraim's Rescue. It was a movie that was made about one of Brian's ancestors.

At the Eph Hanks descendent fireside we got to see and hold Eph's actual gun. I think Brian needs work on his damsel rescue since if he actually shot that gun while it was in front of my face, it'd be a problem!

Brian with the gun.

This is Dell holding the gun and you can see Eph's initials carved into the gun.

On Monday, we were at my sister's house and the kids had a blast playing together.

A little outing with the kiddos.

Happy little lady!

We went to Cabella's (I had never been) and the boys enjoyed testing out the cots and tents.

The theme for my mom's birthday party was "Alice in Wonderland" since that's her favorite movie. The kids helped me make the decorations including these Mome Raths made of Popsicle sticks.

I made this for the door for when my mom arrived. I think this could be my favorite paper craft. (Especially because I just eyeballed everything!)

Also for when my mom arrived.

Her Cheshire Cat banner.

The hanging mome raths.

For dinner, we had hot dogs (a mom favorite) and these cute jello cups.

Madison and Mitchell had a dance recital that night, so we went to that first and then we did pie and presents at home.

Blowing out the 60! Happy birthday, Mom! Love you so mucho!

The white gifts were all from the kids.

This was what was inside each of the packages from the kids: Little Debbie treats! My mom was kind enough to share with the kids (of course).

The sisters and husbands gave my mom this throw blanket and a book (Jennie made) of all of our pictures from our Disney World trip.
