Getting Outside

I adore spring. It's still a bit chilly so there aren't a gazillion bugs flying at you, the trees and flowers start blooming (Hello, Daffodils!), and we all get outside and get some fresh air!

Spring is what I missed while living in the Midwest. It seemed winter (and snow...yuck!) lasted clear through April and then suddenly it was hot and humid. The "spring" felt very short. Spring is reason number 107 as to why I love living in the beautiful Pacific Northwest!

The kids have been out to play in our backyard a few times. It is SO wonderful having our private, fenced-in backyard. The kids can play outside while I do things inside. Today, since it was in the mid-50's, I joined them outside and did a little weeding and actually really enjoyed it. This backyard needs some serious TLC, but I love having it!

This is our front "yard" which is just the driveway in between the garages of the townhouses. There are three garages to the left and three garages to the right. Our townhouse is to the kids' left and in the middle. We do the stomp rocket in our front "yard" so the townhouses keep it from going over any fences.

Step on the stomp rocket!

Watch it fly! Shortly after this, our neighbors came out to play, too. There is a boy just older than Wes and a girl just younger than Sydney that live across from us. They had a great time playing in the driveway while their mom and I chatted about preschool and kindergarten. Ya know, Mom stuff. :)
