On St. Patrick's Day we thoroughly enjoyed our day of green!
Before the actual day, I let the kids paint their own shirts. I cut out the freezer paper stencils and then let them paint it with a sponge.
We also made some shamrock necklaces. Three for the family (Brian and I had to share) and three to give away to friends.
The kids are always excited about holidays.
The leprechaun came and left footprints, Lucky Charms, green milk, and gold coins in the leprechaun trap (the box with the rainbow). For better or worse, there was no actual leprechaun in the trap.
We went to Red Robin for lunch and then went to watch an IMAX at the Science Center. Here are the kids showing off their shirts and balloons.
We did green hand prints because I was going to make a shamrock out of them, but I underestimated how large Brian and my hands were compared to the kids' so we just ended up with green hand prints. The kids still enjoyed it and we still hung them up.
To end our fun day, we made Shamrock Shakes for dessert!
