Swimming in Boise

Along with all the other fun times we had, we took the kids swimming at the Boise YMCA. I was the designated photographer and I had a lot of fun with my job! Here are some cute ones of the kids:

I love this picture of Wes. He's making such a cute face!

Ryan, 3 years old

Lydia, 10 months old

Mitchell, 19 months old

Madison, 4 years old

Danny, 7 years old; Mike; Nathan, 9 years old

Brian and Wes

Another cute one of my boy! :)

To Boise

Since we went out early to Utah we were lucky enough to be able to head up to Boise for the weekend to see my sisters and their families. (And a huge THANK YOU goes out to Mom and Dad Hanks for letting us use their car again...and again...and again!) We had a lot of fun hanging out with everyone dancing, laughing, and chatting until all hours of the night! Wes had a great time playing with his cousins - especially little Lydia!

Wes and Lydia still in PJs playing away!

Jennie, Mike, Angie, Eliot, me and Brian out to dinner - without kids!

Unbeknownst to us, Lydia passed part of her Oreo to Wes...I don't think he minded!

Wes' Oreo face wasn't quite as good as Lydia's...

Could she get any more Oreo on her face? :)

Las Tres Mismas singing away! I think my favorite thing was that I knew and loved every song Jennie had on her iPod...I'm sure Angie felt the same. We're definitely sisters.

Wes was clapping along to all the singing, dancing, and cleaning up the kitchen!

I think this picture is great because you can tell that all three of us are just a little insecure. (Nice timing, Eliot.)

Lydia and Wes hanging out on the floor.

Tuckered out: Brian and Wes.

I like pictures of Wes sleeping because his cheecks get all relaxed and look kind of chubby. His lips relax too and kind of jut out. He looks kind of funny, but still cute.

Christmas in Kaysville

This is Christmas morning in Kaysville. I guess I didn't really take too many pictures!

Wes brushing his teeth with his new Baby Einstein toothbrush he got in his stocking. He's a fan.

Wes as Santa and me getting "fancy" with Picasa.

Our little family. I did it in black and white in a hopes that I wouldn't look so scary! :)

Wes opening the gifts Uncle Kevin, Aunt Naomi, and Uncle Craig got him. His first babeball glove and baseball!

Wes' First Haircut

As was stated in the post below, Wes was in dire need of a haircut. I was just putting it off because I didn't really want to do it myself and because I thought a haircut meant he was growing up too fast! Thankfully, Grandma Hanks was willing to cut his hair for me and even though he did look a bit older when he was done it had to happen! I'd rather him look older than like a girl! :)

The "before" with his super long hair.

Look at those curls! I think he knows something's going on...

The set-up: in the high chair with a toy while watching Baby Einstein. Grandma Hanks is cutting away while Janna and Brian watch.

Trying to get the back. It couldn't be done without Baby Einstein for a distraction!

The finished product! Grandma Hanks actually helped me cut Brian's hair, too. It was my first attempt, and while she did most of it, I think it turned out well.

Christmas in Schaumburg

Originally we thought we were going to spend Christmas in Schaumburg because we thought Brian would have to work.

However, on Wednesday the 19th, we figured out Brian was going to be home the whole Christmas week so we promptly called and changed our tickets to Saturday the 22nd for a whopping $5.00. We were super excited to surprise everyone in Utah (except for Mom Hanks who sneakily picked us up at the airport). Too bad everyone had already sent us their Christmas presents and we'd gone grocery shopping!

We decided to have our own Christmas Eve on Friday night and our Christmas morning right before we left. Here are the pictures from Wesley's first 1st Christmas. (Since really he's the one that matters...and yes, his hair was getting long and he was starting to look like a girl.)

This is actually from Thanksgiving weekend when we put the tree up.

Wes in the Christmas PJ's he "inherited" from his cousin Mitchell. (Thanks Angie!)

Cutie!

His first present from the Hanks Grandparents.

What do I do with this?

Oooo...a ball...

Another cute picture with Dad.

Christmas Catch-up

Well, I'm finally getting around to posting about our ward Christmas party which happened on December 1st. I'm only over a month late! It was also the day it snowed for the first time this season. Luckily, we're in a "heat wave" and it's in the 60's today and all the snow is melted. It's pretty miserable when the snow just piles and piles for 3 months straight. I'll probably post everyday (if possible) to catch up on the busy couple of weeks we've had!

Wes watching the first snow.

Kerry White and Brian waiting to play in the Schaumburg 2nd Ward Christmas Orchestra.

Proof that Brian can actually play the trombone. This is the first I'd ever seen of it!

Wes keeping entertained during the program part of the evening.

Wes and his friend Carden who is - belive it or not - only a few weeks older than Wes.

Wes with Santa. Just as I suspected, he wasn't scared, just interested.
