San Diego and Snow

Wes and I went down to San Diego to stay with Angie and Eliot for a week while Brian had a business trip in the LA area. It worked out perfectly because Brian was able to come down and hang out with us over the weekend. We had a really great time and enjoyed the sun and warmth (a little rain, but definitely not snow). It's easy to see why so many people want to live in southern California!

Angie and I ventured out with the kids to a Romney Rally downtown. We were there for about two hours with the kids which made for an adventure, but when else can you get such an opportunity? Even though he's dropped out of the race, I'm impressed with how far he came and I'll be looking for him again in 2012!
Where's Angie (not Waldo)? This is near the beginning before Mitt got there and before the crowd got really large.

Wes holding the foam "Mitt" with Madison behind him. See the crackers on the left? That's Mitchell.

The Mitt making his speech.

I took this picture of Wes on my shoulders. He started to get scared and cried out when everyone yelled so I had to take him down and get him some juice.

Wes drinking his juice.

I was lucky enough to shake the (potential) future President's hand! (Thank goodness I had my stroller to keep people from pushing me out of the way.) This is the picture I took right after and I just tried to snap it quickly before he passed so that's why it's a bit blurry.

Since it wasn't 20 below, Wes was able to play at the park for his first time (since he can play). This is him - big pimpin' - on the swing for the first time ever.

Most of the time he wasn't so sure, but we caught a little smile.

Going down the slide for the first time!

Feeling the sand.

Hillary (my cousin) came down from LA to visit with her two kids which was so fun! This is Wes and Owen (2nd cousins) drinking their bottles. Owen is 17 days older than Wes.

And this is what we came home to...piles and piles of snow. (At least we flew home the day after 700 flights were cancelled at O'Hare.)
