I enjoy cooking. I like trying new recipes. A lot. However, my hubby gets tired of me always saying, "I've never made this before, so I hope it's good!" Sometimes he just wants some "old standards". The other day it occurred to me that we don't have enough favorite recipes to make a rotation for a month (or two or three) of meals that we love. I had him start rating meals in the hope that we'd find some favorites, which is somewhat helpful.
I'm hoping that my friends and family will have some favorite recipes to share with me!
Here's what I'm looking for:
- mostly healthy (some of our current favorites aren't) or the option to be so (skim milk, whole wheat pasta, less cheese, etc.)
- it doesn't necessarily have to be quick or easy (since I enjoy the cooking process), but that's always a bonus
- a good combo of meat (not a ton, mostly ground beef or roasts), poultry and vegetarian options (I cook vegetarian twice a week at least); I also like salmon and tilapia, but not shrimp
- if it can be cheap, that's great, but I'd rather have "whole food" and healthy options and spend a bit more money
- it doesn't have to be kid-friendly; my kids get what they want all day so dinner they either eat what I make or starve
Sound hard? Yah, I guess it is. So what's in your rotation? Recipes, please! (I love recipes.)
