We Live a Charmed Life...

The other day on the phone my dad told me (half joking) that Brian and I live a charmed life, but today, I'm inclined to agree. Just take a look at our summer plans...

First off, we're moving to Dallas, Texas for the summer. Brian got an ideal "internship" for the summer with a little financial planning firm that caters to dentists called Cain Watters. (I wonder where the hook up came from!) It's such a great opportunity for Brian and what's more, everything fell into place to make it happen. (Isn't it great when that happens?)

We leave in about 16 days (and have known for about 6) and already have someone to live in our place - furnished - so we don't have to pack yet (yay for Kevin, Naomi, and Brooklyn!) and we found a great, furnished place in Dallas, literally, a minute from Brian's office. (And one of my mom's favorite shopping malls!)

Next, we're heading to Nassau, Bahamas (at a resort called Paradise Island, no less) with the Swensen fam for a week in July. Nothing but relaxing, swimming with the sharks, playing, reading, and of course, chasing Wes around! Sounds like paradise to me!

We'll head back sometime in August (date to be determined), pack up, and move over to Ann Arbor to start a top 10 MBA program. The only downside to this plan is that we're going to be SUPER cold again! But all in all, pretty awesome!

So I think I can accurately say that, yes Dad, we do live a charmed life.

Our Little Techie

Wes is constantly trying to grab whatever electronic item we (mostly his dad) are playing with. He is always grabbing at our cell phones, channel changers, and laptops (much to Brian's chagrin since he can no longer sit on the couch and play on the Internet while Wes is awake).

Today I decided to let Wes play with my laptop on the floor for a bit. Things were going fine until somehow he shut it off and I took it away to make sure he hadn't broken it. That was a big mistake! He threw quite the little tantrum - legs kicking and all!

So, after I made sure it wasn't broken (and he had calmed down), I turned it off and took out the battery and gave it back to him. Then I went out of the room for a minute (Brian was in there, but working on his computer) and when I came back Wes was chewing on something and there was a space where the letter "Y" used to be. Naturally, I started freaking out. Luckily, he was just chewing on the tiny rubber piece (not choke-able) that goes under the key and Brian pulled it out of his mouth.

Crisis averted. However, I don't think he'll be getting to play with my laptop anymore!
