Virtual Art Show

My kids are really into coloring lately. And drawing. And coloring. And drawing. And coloring some more. We pretty much constantly have paper and crayons all over the table. Some of their drawings are quite impressive (I think) so I feel bad throwing them all away (recycling them, of course). Obviously, though, I can't keep them all.

The other day, after I noticed one particularly impressive picture from Sydney, I decided we should do a "virtual art show". This way, I could take some pictures of the kids and their art. Unfortunately, after I told them we'd be doing an art show, the kids actually got more sloppy with their pictures and didn't do their usual focused work. Oh well, they still enjoyed it!

I realize they aren't super easy to see. I had them name their pictures and give them a price. First, on the top left we have "Princess Castle" going for $30.00. Then, below it we have "Turtle Everybody Turtle Happy" for $.35 (yep, 35 cents).

Next, in the top left we have "Volcano Alley" for $35.02. Below that is "Tornado Alley" for $30.02. His final piece on the right is "Artiscetti" for a whopping $2,020.00. :)

Here is Sydney showcasing her work. Most of her work was done with a pink crayon.

First, on the top (which is very hard to see) is "Vannon" for $30.00. Below it (which inspired the show) is "A Princess" for $55.00.

Then, on the top left, we have "Wesley" for $25.00. Below it is "Flower" for $5.00. And finally, to conclude our art show, we have "Mean Mouse" for $25.00.

Preschool Circus

On the evening of March 30th, Wes' preschool teachers put on a "circus" for the preschool kids and families. Our kids had a blast.

Sydney was very serious as she got her face painted. That is actually Wes' teacher, Ms. Robbins, doing the face painting.

Sydney jumped her way around the cupcake walk. I wish I had gotten a picture of her face when her number was chosen. She was so happy and satisfied. It was the cutest face ever.

The kids had a great time topping their ice cream sundaes. I have fewer pictures of Wes because he was running around with his good friend, Gunnar (the little blonde boy), most of the time.

I think a sundae bar would be a fabulous idea for Sydney's birthday. :)

At the end, Wes decided he wanted a kitty face before we left. After it was done, he was acting kind of weird so I asked him if he wanted to wash the face paint off. He did, and he was fine after that. Wes is definitely the type of kid that doesn't ever want to look stupid. (Can't say I blame him!)
