Trip to Boise and Back to Schaumburg

Last weekend Brian and I went to Boise to visit his grandparents and extended family and go to my nephew, Danny's, baptism.

Wes loved being able to play outside with his cousins. Ryan and Wes had some fun together!

The Dildine family after the baptism. Danny is the one standing in front of my sister, Jennie.

Our little family of three (for now)!

Little Lydia looking pretty cute even while she's crying.

Lydia and Wes having some breadsticks at The Olive Garden after the baptism.

Danny, Wes, and Nathan all tuckered out after the baptism and lunch.

Back in Kaysville, I let Wes try yogurt on his own after seeing Lydia do it. Quite a mess, but he's gotta learn! I think my favorite is the yogurt goatee. :)

On Monday, for FHE, we played some games and then noticed the basement was flooding so we spent a good while that night cleaning it up! When Brian was digging the window well he busted a pipe and through some miscommunication the sprinklers were left on. Super bummer. They had to move the super heavy, brand new pool table, and we had to get as much water out of the floor as we could.

We all helped! (Except Wes, he was asleep.)

Trying to dry the carpet. Brian felt pretty bad about the whole thing!

To get ready for the long drive, Brian and his dad worked on getting the car in tip-top shape. Wes had a great time playing in the car and doing the "manly man" thing. :)

Brian left on Wednesday to drive to Schaumburg. One of the rules was that he had to call every 100 miles. Before Wes went to bed, Brian called the home phone to talk with him. For some reason Wes will talk on the home phone but not the cell phone. At the end of the conversation, Wes even said, "Bye Dad!" in his own little Wesley sound.

Wes and I flew out yesterday morning (Friday). Our flight was supposed to leave at 8:30am and we didn't actually leave until 10:00am. Good thing Grandpa was there to play with Wes! Wes did really well considering he woke up at 6:30am and didn't fall asleep on the plane. I found a new trick to keep him entertained though! More on that later...

When we got "home" (since we don't really have a home right now), Naomi had a very nice clean house ready for us and you can see the destruction Wes caused in about 3 hours or less. (Notice the half empty DVD cabinet in the back as well as all the stuff in the foreground.) Yay for toddlers! :)

A Few More Pics From Our Trip

So I'm a little behind in the blog posting area, but that's okay! I'm going to be even more behind, because Brian left today for Schaumburg and I didn't think to grab that camera cable.

But that's where we're at as of now! Brian is off to drive - by himself - the 20 hours to Schaumburg and Wes and I are flying the 3 hours on Friday morning. Honestly, I think both can be equally stressful with a child, but Brian can make better time without the two of us and my stress is limited to the airport and airplane.

Here are some pictures from last week...

Super cheesy grin man. Seriously, I don't know where he gets it from.

Brian biked with his dad to work one day. It's about 20 miles one way and his dad does it about 2 or 3 times a week. Good exercise! (Later that night Brian went mountain biking with his friend, Aaron. Brian likes to bike!)

We got my ring cleaned and re-rhodium-plated and decided to get some pictures since we don't really have any good ones. It always looks so amazing after we take it in! It's just an amazing ring.

Here's another view where you can tell it's actually three pieces. By the way, for those who don't know, Brian designed this ring. I know, pretty amazing, huh? I love it.

Brian also worked on digging another window well while he was here. This is him hard at work!

For those of you that don't know what a window well looks like, this is a before picture from the inside.

Here's an after picture (this is one that Brian worked on previously).

Here's the outside view before.

And here's the outside after.
