What's Going On...

Well, it's been a while since I've posted (even though the last post says it was me who posted, but it was - obviously - Brian). So, here's just a little of what's going on with the Wes, mostly for the grandparents and aunts and uncles. All except for G&G Swensen who are coming to visit on Friday! Yay! We're super excited!

This is Wes' favorite way to watch Baby Einstein these days (or anything else on TV for that matter). He likes to stand there and pull all the DVDs out of their spot while periodically catching what's going on with the show - up close and personal. I usually just leave the DVDs out until right before Brian gets home. What's the point of picking them up during the day? Seriously.

(By the way...we knew this would be a problem when Keyton came to visit a year ago and was just barely older than Wes is now...however, we have yet to buy a new entertainment center. I guess spending the money isn't worth me or Brian having to pick up the DVDs!)

Wes is also having fun opening up our (empty, thankfully) credenza and playing. He normally just opens and shuts the doors but he tried to retrieve his ball today and got stuck. He didn't quite know how to get back down. He was kind of whimpering for help and then started smiling when I started taking the picture.

Wes is also very much enjoying opening and shutting the bathroom and bedroom doors. Any time either of us is in the bathroom, Wes' little fingers come poking through the bottom of the door. And if ever we're both in our bedroom (Brian's in the shower, I'm still in bed), Wes comes crawling through our door to hang out! He's pretty funny and likes to be with people, for sure.

As for me...I'm swiftly getting sucked in to the Food Network. I've never really understood all these people (most people I know) who say, "Oh the Food Network is always on in the background at my house." I've always thought it'd be so boring. And honestly, I haven't seen anything I'd make yet (mostly because I like super simple and don't like red meat and most fish...plus, I'm a lean, low-fat fan) but I like it for the potential tips I can get. By the way, does anybody know what they do with all that food they make? They always try a bite, but then what about the rest? (Not to mention the "chilling" cake while they're frosting they already chilled cake, etc.) I think my favorite show so far is the Food Network Challenge where they do amazing sculpting with food. I had seen a chocolate one before and then I just watched a couple of cake episodes. It's just amazing.

And of course, I'm watching American Idol. My favorite of the moment is David Cook. He is so my style...the pop-punk. It's very reminiscent of Chris Daughtry, whom I loved, and still do. I don't think David will win, but I totally dig his sound. Who do I think should go tonight? Kristy Lee Cook. I don't think she should have made the top 12. Brian totally digs her sound though.

As for Brian...he's working hard at Avery and at home like usual! He's (we're) still waiting to hear back from University of Chicago (March 26th!) before we can make our final decision about what to do in the fall. (For those who aren't "in the know," we're deciding on Brian's MBA program for the fall. It's between Northwestern in Chicago, University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, University of Texas at Austin, and - hopefully - University of Chicago.)
