Hot Diggity Dog

About a month ago now, I got this video of Sydney skipping around in circles singing the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse song. It's hard to understand, but she's singing, "Hot dog! Ooo-ooo, hot dog! Hot dog, hot diggity dog!" I'm not sure what possessed her to do this, but apparently she needed to burn off some energy because she hopped around like this for at least five minutes (falling down occasionally, of course).

Frenemies

I'm not sure if the spelling is correct, but a "frenemy" is the slang term for someone who's your friend and your enemy all at once; or, every other second, depending on the situation. I feel like that kind of defines the relationship of my kids right now.

Life is bliss when they play together, but then Wes gently "nudges" Sydney off the couch until she falls or Sydney steals Wes' truck to get him worked up. There's a lot of yelling, screaming, crying, and chasing that goes on around here these days. Luckily for you, I've documented their happy moments below. :)

Playing trains together: sharing and both perfectly content.

Pretending to sleep. Wes likes to have Sydney "take naps" with him or have sleepovers (for about five seconds at a time).

This girl loves blueberries (boo-berries).

Wes figured out his blanket could be a cape. I feel like that's totally a boy milestone, so it made me smile. PS: I think he looks a lot like Brian in this picture.

When we went to check on the kids before we went to bed, we found Wes sleeping against the wall under Sydney's crib. She actually sleeps in her own little "room" (aka: the closet), so he made his way in there, crawled under, and fell asleep. I'm sure Sydney was super excited to have him there! She loves her brother, "Wessie".

The kids practicing their workbook skills (thanks Grandma Hanks!). You can see Sydney's a lefty (thanks Grandpa Hanks). :)
