Shiny New Toy & Apple Picking

I have been MIA in the blogging world for a while. Natalie has valiantly taken up the mantle of "head blogger" in the family and does a superb job. Just to remind everyone how good she is, let's try a little juxtaposition (did I just use that in a sentence? Does that make me an honorary English major, Craig?) with my attempt at a post.

Life has been busy for sure. School keeps me busy 7 days a week, despite my protests that Sunday is not the "perfect day to study strategy as a group". Not to worry. . . I found skipping church allows an extra 3 hours for things like the Finance Club Happy Hour.

We relaxed (sorry, my definition of relax: "not involving homework") this morning by going apple & raspberry picking at a local farm. Wes, the health-conscience kid he is, promptly picked up the first apple he saw lying on the ground and took a big bite.

The tractor ride was a big hit.

So many apples...such a little tummy.

The orchard had a hay maze. I thought it was well done, the 17 month-old population wasn't nearly as impressed.

We got a pound and a half of raspberries. Final verdict: not as good as Grandpa Smith's raspberries.

On this trip, what was edible was a concept that quickly caught on.

And finally, you have to put up with pictures like this one from time to time as I try out all the fun options with my new camera.

Wes Pics

I thought I'd better post a few pictures from the past week. Wes is enjoying his last days of being an only child and all his alone Mom and Dad time!

It rained a ton last weekend and so after some time outside we came in and bundled Wes up in blankets. I think he thought it was pretty funny.

I thought it would be fun to take a picture of the LDS MBA 1 boys at the beginning of our adventure and then take a picture when our husbands graduate. We finally got the picture last Saturday. Carter is 6 months, Hayden is 11 months, and Wes is 16 months.

Wes and I went to the library today and they had this ball machine that pushed the balls up when he hit the red button. He was really upset when he had to take turns and then when we had to leave.

Here he is in action.

Watching the balls go up and around and back down again.
