Our 6th Anniversary

On Saturday, September 10th, Brian and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary! We left our house around lunchtime sans kids to go on a hike at Little Si in North Bend. After that, we got smoothies which was perfect because we were so hot and thirsty.

Then, we walked around the nearby outlet mall, which wasn't the greatest idea since we were pretty tired after that hike. However, Brian did score some good deals.

Then, we went downtown to Pacific Place and had dinner at Johnny Rockets and then went to see Captain America. Did you know you get B1G1 entree free at the Pacific Place Johnny Rockets when you see a movie at Pacific Place? Also, you can take Johnny Rockets food into the theater. We took a milkshake. Yum!

We had an enjoyable day celebrating our six years!

At the top of the hike. A view of trees, trees, and more trees!

Another view.

The happy couple! :)

A snake that we saw on the trail back. Yike!

Tacoma Museum of Glass

We celebrated Labor Day by going to the Tacoma Museum of Glass. It was cool, but I was glad we had a Groupon because I don't think it would have been worth paying full price for. It's fun to try most things once though!

We started by watching the live glass making demonstration. It was really fascinating and I could have stayed there watching them transform glass for a long time. Alas, with kids, it was not to be.

Here's the guy torching the glass that wouldn't even look the same a few minutes later.

Outside, they have these fun waterfall/glass sculptures.

The odd-shaped structure in the background is the museum and where the live demonstration is held.

Sydney loved the water and was soaking wet after she was done playing there.

We walked up to see all the glass sculptures on the glass bridge. Oh no! The rocks were going to fall on me! (I know...I'm suuuuuuper funny.) ;)

One of the ceiling pieces on the glass bridge.

Brian admiring the sculptures along the bridge.

The view coming down the ramp from the glass bridge.

I'm sure this picture would stress my mom out, but the water isn't deep at all. The piece in the background in made of glass.

After the glass museum, we went to Ruston Way (the Tacoma waterfront) to have a picnic lunch.

It was a beautiful day!

Here are the kids using Brian as a pillow while enjoying their lunch!

Then we threw rocks in the water. Brian was trying to throw one in the air and then hit it with another one.

Success! After multiple failed attempts, he finally conquered his goal. He was super excited and super proud of himself. :)

Sydney, la exploradora.

I actually don't like taking pictures of myself like this, but I figured it's about the only way to document Brian and I together sometimes. Here we are with the beautiful view!
